Tropical cap was introduced in early 1941 for soldiers of the Afrika Korps. Its design, with some modifications, was copied from a traditional headdress mountain rangers. Standard patches in the form of an eagle and the tricolor were made on yellow-brown background and sewn like a mountain caps. For differences in combat arms, above the visor angle sewn up soutache corresponding color. On top of the stems officer caps sewn silver cord, well, the generals was laid gilded.
