Uniforms

The last year of the war saw the most dramatic changes in SS camouflage uniforms. A new two-piece uniforms was introduced in early 1944 to replace the smock. Additionally, it was primarily produced in a new pattern that would become commonplace among SS troops in the final months of the war.

The general’s tunic differs from the officer’s primarily in the higher quality of the material and an even more pronounced bluish tint of the fabric.

Тhe black panzer uniforms was introduced for members of the army Kraftfahrkampftruppe by an order dated 12.11.1934. the uniform consisted of a short double-breasted jacket, trousers, tricot pullover shirt, black tie and beret.

It appears that the first models used were the same pattern as the army, and likely obtained from them. One visible difference in the overall appearance was the SS brown shirt beneath the jacket instead of the army grey model. With a greater level of mobilization occurring within the Waffen SS, the uniform undoubtedly began to be manufactured by SS sources. In the 1941 the SS introduced the wool assault gun uniform in field grey, and reed-green HBT protective suit, both in the same pattern as the black. These new uniforms elicited a slightly different cut by rounding  out the collar and giving the front opening a vertical closure. The new style quickly distinguished the SS model from its army counterpart.  The changes over in design for the black uniform likely occurred prior  the introduction of these uniforms, as they were intended to follow the same pattern as the black version. Therefore, modification of the black jacket probably occurred in the latter part of 1940.  Thereafter, the jacket remained fairly consistent for the duration of the war, with only a few minor variations.

The jacket is made of raincoat fabric in khaki color with water-repellent impregnation. It has two convenient pockets at the bottom, 2 mesh pockets inside and one inside chest pocket. As a fastener, a zipper and buttons are used. Insulation padding polyester in two layers. Depending on the wishes of the customer, it is possible to use insulation in several layers, which will allow the jacket to be used at low temperatures or under warmer conditions. Also, at the request of the client, changes can be made to the design of the jacket. During transportation, the jacket can be packed in a compact case.

They were worn with field jackets of all cuts. In the first years of the war, breeches were sewn from stein gray fabric, a color approved back in 1916. This was due to the fact that pants, unlike a jacket or tunic, changed color faster with more frequent washing, so it was decided to initially introduce differences in the color of the tunic and breeches. On the trousers and breeches of the officers of the General Staff, double 33 mm stripes of crimson cloth and piping were sewn, differing from the generals only in color.

This model has open side pockets with mad flaps.

The jacket is made of camouflage fabric type DOT 44, has two convenient pockets on the chest and at the bottom. As a fastener, a zipper and buttons are used. For the lining was used cotton satin fabric, insulation sintepon. Depending on the wishes of the customer, it is possible to use a heater in several layers, which will make it possible to obtain a jacket for both autumn and winter wear.

Military style  – a trend in fashion, a characteristic feature of which is the use of various models or elements borrowed from military uniforms, for example, coarse military boots, berets, caps, flight jackets, pea coats, belts, metal buttons, chevrons, braids, lacing, insignia, a large number of pockets, shoulder straps and much more. The main colors of the military style are brown, olive, dark green and khaki. Black, gray and blue colors are also acceptable. Often clothes in this style have a camouflage spotted print.
